Top tips on planning your brochure.

Brochures can be a big investment in both time and money so having a plan before you start can really help make your investment pay off.

1. When exactly do you need your brochure by?

Start with the end in mind; typically you should allow 2-3 weeks for printing alone. If you are lucky and have all your words and pictures ready, the design could be a couple of weeks, more likely you will need photoshoots, the wording created and more, this can take 4-6 weeks or more in some instances. Eek!

It’s not an exact science, as all brochures are not created equal, but it will put your planning on the front foot.

2. Write a brochure design brief.

The next and probably most fundamental step is finding out what it is you are hoping to achieve with your brochure.

Do you know:

  • Who your audience are?
  • What they want to know?
  • What you want them to do?

If so, fantastic your dream brochure awaits. But for most it’s worth pausing and giving this some thought, just to make sure that you are certain about exactly what this brochure is going to achieve. Knowing your audience and what they want should never be underestimated. Only by knowing this can you produce messages that get the results you are after.

Spending time on this will prove key at every stage of the process, take it from us, we know.
